Privacy Policy
Short version: we collect one email address, we use it only for what you agree to, and we never sell it. The long version is below because some of it we are required to say.
What We Collect
Your email address, when you use the free AI Stone Assessment. It is the only personal information this site asks for.
The photographs you upload and anything you type about the stone. They are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be analysed, and the assessment comes back to your screen. We do not store your photographs on this site. Anthropic processes them under its own commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on them.
A one-way scrambled form of your network address. Not your actual address — a scrambled version that cannot be turned back. It exists only to stop one person from running the free tool thousands of times and running up our bill. Daily counters are deleted automatically after two days.
What We Do With It
Your email address is kept so we know who is using the free tool and can stop abuse of it. If — and only if — you tick the box asking for updates, we will also write to you occasionally: new editions of the book, new free forms, and now and then something worth saying about cemetery preservation. Not often. We are a two-person operation in Maine, not a marketing department.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your email address with anyone. Reply to any message and ask to be removed and you are removed, same day.
Affiliate Links
Some links on our Supplies page go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases — a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon may set its own cookies when you follow one of those links; that is Amazon's activity under Amazon's privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies and Tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics or tracking pixels. We load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's font servers to fetch them. That is the extent of it.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will delete it.
Your Choices
Write to jim@guardianstonecare.com and ask us to show you what we hold on you, correct it, or delete it entirely. We will do it. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to live somewhere that requires us to.
