Why the Assessment Tool Is Free
Most of the damage we see was done by someone who cared. They read something online, bought the wrong product, and went to work on a stone that had stood for two hundred years. The stone does not survive good intentions.
We cannot get to every cemetery in America. What we can do is make sure the next person standing in front of a marker with a bucket and a brush has the right answer before they start. If that costs us a few cents a photograph, it is the cheapest preservation work we will ever do.
For the families who still come back to tend the old stones.
